You guys have to see this video!!!

If you watch this commercial you will know how cute that baby ducks and otters are.  You should also know that it's very important that they get the oil washed off if they get in an oil spill!!  The commercial uses Dawn!  It seems to work very well.  Dawn is tough on grease yet gentle. "Quack."

Always for the rest of your life buy Dawn for your dish detergent!  I'm serious!  They are so nice to baby ducks with oil on them.  Buy the Dawn with a cute animal on the front.  Then go to here to activate your donation from buying the bottle of Dawn!!  Then, Dawn will give $1 to the cute animal on the front of the bottle.  This isn't a lie!

close your ears and eyes when valve games start

DJ is playing with his computer in the other roomuter.

I like cheese.

Thas was a poem I wrote for y’all. Sometimes you just can’t help it but to jot down a line or two.  Then, you’re like, really glad you did.

So, I thought I’d let you friendly friends in on a little secret I know.  Then I changed my mind!!

No, not really!

Ok here’s the secret: Don’t eat peanut butter chicken! Where’s my spellchecker?? I do not know if peanut butter is one word or two words!! DJ! Where’s my spell checker? Is that one word or two words?! I’m freakin out. Misssspellingz. I cant stant it.

Well seriously, I’m gonna have to wing this one becuz the spell checker is out. It like, dissappeeered. Seriusly. Oh that’s hilarious because the capitalization checker definitely works. I didn’t want that s in uppercase because I thot it wuld look dummer that way. But no, that will not be allowed. Proppur capitulizashun is reel importunt.

Oh yeah, I think that lolcats are really funny!!!  I sound like a lolcat right now!

Since I haven't read anything to report lately, I just figured I could tell you about this one thing I did the other day!!  Ok...I made a blueberry pie from scratch!!  It was really hard to make.  I had to make the dough out of flour, shortening, butter, and ice water!  I had to use my fingertips lightly to mix it into dough!!  Then I had to flatten out the dough to make it be a crust!  That was hard because first I forgot that you have to put flour down first or it sticks.  Then, I remembered!  So, I put tons of flour on the counter and rolled the dough into a flat sortof circle with a blue cup because I lost my rolling pin.  Then I made the top the same way.  I cut it into weird lines to make a grid on top.  That part didn't work.  It was my very first time, though!  The filling had blueberries, baking powder, sugar, and lemon juice!  I made too much filling.  I put the rest in the refrigerator.  You can have it if you want it.  I don't need it.  Once the cute little pie was assembled, I put it in the oven!  It baked while I was in the shower.  I thought I smelled something while I was in there.  That's because the pie got leaky into the bottom of the oven!!  It's still down there because I don't want to clean it up right now because I'm not really sure how and I'm lazy.  But, my pie turned out so yummy!!!  I was so happy and proud!!

Tonight I made peanut butter chicken.  It makes my stomach feel like it's got throw up in it.  I mean, it tasted pretty good.  But barfy barf barf, you know?

Well, this is my blob intry for today. Wuzn’t it blobalicious?

P.S.  If you want to make peanut butter chicken I can tell you how!

july 29

I usually do a post about what I've read or something. I read Love in the Time of Cholera and The Lightning Thief. I didn’t care enough about Love in the Time of Cholera to write about it. It’s mostly about coming to terms with growing old. You should experience life to the fullest. Your life is today no matter how old you are!

The Lightning Thief was really exciting and funny. I’m gonna read the rest of those books.  Mythology was never a favorite subject of mine. There were some people in my class who were totally weird about wanting to study mythology. The teacher would be like: “Do y’all have anything in particular you want to study?” People would be like: ”Ooh...Let’s study mythology.” I’m like: “Let’s not.” But, now I think I like mythology! It’s fun to hear about anything that’s not commonplace. It’s really fun to read about powerful gods! Then, it’s fun to read the Percy Jackson books because you see that little good guys have a chance against big bad guys! How encouraging! Then again, the book is kinda mythological.

On a happier note, Belle and Leah are adjusted to their new wireless containment fence! We got Elmer a collar, too. But, we don’t let him wear it because he’s mean to the cats. He has to stay in his dog pen or get tied to the pole where he can’t scare the baby kitties.Belle accidentally ran off Josie and Joey. Senor moved away but it was before Belle came! The baby kitties are well. Maybe I can get DJ to put some pictures of them up here so you can watch them grow!

The Host

D.J. says I'm not contributing to the website enough. So, I'm writing a blob entry about the book I just read. Don't make fun of me because of my 7th grade reading level! Yes, I am a 13 year old girl.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer is the book I just read. She wrote the Twilight books, ya know? I enjoyed this book as much, or maybe more than, the Twilight series! Stephenie Meyer's flair for writing about inter-species forbidden love makes this science fiction novel a real heart grabber!!

It's really great that we have this planet to ourselves, for now, as humans to rule.  Wouldn't it freak you out if this power arrangement ever changed? What if the world you grew up understanding was just....no more? What if your body and mind were taken from you and you couldn't find comfort even in yourself? Your very own soul has been replaced!!! Wouldn't it be super weird if you were a lost soul that was taking over a person's life?! So many struggles would be present!

These are some of the crazy ideas introduced in The Host! It's interesting to envision how human nature might respond in desperate situations!! How would people act? A pure soul never considers harm. To an outsider it probably looks like humans feed off hurting each other! Now, like we can interpret from The Host, inhumanity doesn't always prevail. Humans don't need an alien soul inside them to be good. Most people do have their own moral code and at least some form of a conscience.

What is a conscience anyway? In real life, I tend to think its The Holy Spirit! What is a soul?! That, I don't understand! I think everybody is born with their very own soul. Or, maybe a soul is born into its own body! Then probably the soul is empty and longing until the Holy Spirit moves in! Then, you have a complete soul with a conscience! So, really, nobody on Earth should need a soul like Wanderer from The Host to move in! We can just invite the Holy Spirit. Isn't this thought warm and gooey like underdone cookies?!

It really is weird to think of the body and soul as different entities. I'm too dumb to understand it. But it's crazy! One of the songs we're learning in choir is an old song by Beethoven, My Soul Longs for You, O God. I don't remember the words right now, or I'd put them up here for us to read later. They weren't on the internet. I know it says "My soul longs for you, O God....long I wait." Then there's a bunch more about longing and being fulfilled and junk. It's a pretty thought. Then another song we sang last night made me notice that there are tons of songs about souls and how they cry out to God like the person isn't crying out but their soul is. In the song we were singing the person was directing their soul. I guess you can tell your soul what to do? I'll think about this some more later.

I never noticed my soul being different from my mind or person. Maybe when I feel heart pangs, like when you see DJ or Snot-rag, that's my soul speaking to me! Maybe it's that feeling I ignore when I feel like I should do something nice! Either way, I'm sure my soul is in there.

But, I am glad to know that The Host is just fiction. It’s comforting to know our souls will inhabit our earthly bodies at least until 2012. Also, I’m glad the rumors say there will be, not 1, but 2 sequels to The Host!!! I can’t wait!

The Story of Edgar Sawtelle

Tuesday night I finished reading a really good book that my Aunt Carol loaned me and I wanted to tell you guys about it!

The name of it is The Story of Edgar Sawtelle!  The author is David Wroblewski.  I think I really like Mr. Wroblewski.  He tells a good story!   I can't tell you too much about the book because it's full of surprises and it'll ruin it if you read it!  But, you should know that some of the main characters are...DOGS!  Who couldn't love a book that sometimes speaks from the dog's point of view?!  that's great.  If you get depressed really easy, then you shouldn't read this book.  I almost got depressed.  But it was worth it!

The Sawtelles sell dogs for a living.  That's a job I would like.  Also, I would like to be an adventurer.  Don't you think it would fun?  Part of the book talks about how oh it's bad to be ordinary, no ordinary is fine for some people because you're trustworthy, and stuff like that.  I agree that it's ok to be ordinary.  Sometimes it would be more fun to be an adventurer, though.

you should read this book if you like it when you read books about loneliness and sadness and how it's ok to be like that sometimes.  it makes you feel better about your life!  also, it makes you love dogs more!

I think Leah could be like Almondine if I played with her more.  She's a great dog.  Elmer's a good dog too, but he's mean to the cats.
