Home Arcade

I was a kid during the last booming arcade era of video games. There were cabinets in malls, laundromats, movie theaters, bowling alleys, restaurants, and more. My uncle even owned an arcade/pool hall. I always wanted an arcade machine since. When I was old enough to have disposable income, I discovered how prohibitively expensive cabinets could be, so that dream was put on hold.

In early 2018 while searching for vintage games on the internet, specifically Sega CD games, I stumbled upon someone selling a Tekken 3 cabinet for $400 about 30 minutes from my house. I had the room for it, and that was a steal of a price, so I bought it. This was a gateway drug.

I learned how to wire up Jamma boards and how not to die while working with the CRT. After replacing the controls and installing a custom button for free credits, I craved more. The second cabinet I acquired was used as a learning tool to build my own cabinets. And the rest is history.

I would like to create overview videos for each of my cabinets, but for now, here’s a photo of the current setup (2025). Below is a brief tour I made at the request of a long distance friend in 2019 showing the machines and video game art collected, mostly via Etsy, from all over the country.
